Cabin Shopping

“Pine furniture, antler mounts, Swedish rag rugs, and plaid are
great for pulling off that carefree lake-house vibe. And of course,
no cabin would be complete without a rocker and a few vintage
books to peruse during downtime.”

~ One King’s Lane

If you have even the slightest yen for the cabin life, hurry over to online retailer  One Kings Lane for their “Vintage Picks with Cabin Style” shop until August 29.  These are vintage finds culled from around the world that scream warmth, comfort, rusticity and nostalgia;  it’s not 100% the look I’m going for but it is a beautifully curated collection.  Shop for your own cabin, the cabin of your dreams, or if you’d simply like to bring a little cabin style to your everyday life.

Here are some of my picks:

From left to right:

Copper and Brass Utensils, $165;  French Overdyed Gran Sack Pillows, 275;  Decorated Camp Paddle, $499;  Scandinavian Red Pendant Light, $995;  German Stag Horn Handled Forks, $55;  Yellow Enamel Fondue Pot, $59;  Bent Branch Rocker, $609;  Turkish Kilim Lumbar Pillow, $59;  Danish Coffee Pot, $125;  Visitors Welcome Sign, $265;  Blue Stripe Pendleton Blanket, $365;  Walden (1939), $69;  Turkish Kilim Ottoman, $159;  Brass Waterin Can, $95.

  1. Who needs a catalog for “charm and nostalgia” ? Don’t people have parents with overflowing basements, attics, garages, and even too-full rooms ? This is a “cabin” (aka for New Englanders -“camp”) after all ! (Things aren’t suppose to “match”. ) (And one must not say “oh, I bought that at” — but rather “I found that at” or “oh, this used to belong to.)

    1. But BEWARE the cabin as dumping ground or you will end up with a complete set of Thanksgiving themed place card holders, three broken coffee makers and a water bed.
